Job Readiness Training Program
Urban Opportunities and Pathways to Manufacturing

Impact NW 2008-2013

At Impact NW, I supported workforce development initiatives designed to expand economic opportunity for individuals facing barriers to employment. I played a key role in delivering job readiness training through the Urban Opportunities and Pathways to Manufacturing programs (now CORE), helping participants build practical skills, confidence, and clear pathways into sustainable careers. My work centered on building and maintaining strong partnerships across the community — collaborating with local government agencies, private employers, educational institutions, and community organizations to align training with real workforce needs and create meaningful employment opportunities for participants.
  • Independently developed and launched two workforce development programs from concept through full implementation. Created job-readiness curriculum covering resume writing, interviewing, job search, and career exploration. Hired, trained, and managed program staff to execute programming across multiple school settings. Coordinated all program logistics including scheduling, venue management, participant recruitment, and daily operations. Developed training materials and standard operating procedures to ensure consistent, high-quality program delivery.

  • Built and maintained collaborative relationships with government agencies, educational institutions, local manufacturing companies, and community organizations. Served as primary liaison coordinating between schools, employers, funders, program staff, and community partners. Synthesized input from multiple stakeholders with competing priorities to create cohesive strategies and drive consensus. Represented programs at community events and delivered presentations to build awareness and strengthen partnerships.

  • Secured program funding through strategic grant writing and presentations to city government, funders, and governmental entities. Managed contract compliance ensuring all grant deliverables, reporting requirements, and deadlines were met. Tracked performance metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) tied to funding requirements. Conducted data collection and analysis to demonstrate program outcomes and effectiveness. Managed annual budgeting and financial stewardship of program funds across multiple initiatives, maintaining accountability to funders and organizational leadership.
