The Idea

While working in aging services, I saw caregivers struggling with a question no system adequately answered: “What do we actually do together every day?”

Thrive Guides was created to solve that problem. I designed an AI-powered platform that generated personalized enrichment activities based on an older adult’s interests, mobility, cognition, and preferences — helping caregivers move beyond task-based care toward meaningful daily engagement.

The MVP (Minimal Viable Product)

Personalized User Intake- caregivers entered mobility, cognitive level, interests, and ZIP code for a loved one or client

AI-Generated Enrichment Plans — the platform created activities across key well-being domains tailored to individual abilities and preferences

Local & At-Home Activity Integration — each activity included live links to how-to videos or nearby destinations for in-home or community engagement

30-Day Plan Renewal System — new enrichment plans were automatically generated each month to maintain variety and engagement

Favorites Library — users saved preferred activities to build a reusable personal activity database

Care Team Collaboration Tools — caregivers added notes and shared plans with family members or professional care teams

Thrive Guides was an incredible learning journey into the realities of building technology in aging services. Although the platform ultimately didn’t scale as planned, it strengthened my skills in product strategy, partnerships, and human-centered innovation — and reinforced how passionate I am about this work.

I’m now excited to apply those lessons alongside a collaborative team working to improve aging and caregiving at scale.
